Why I became Independent
Having worked in the NHS for a number of years I know how fragmented care can be. I was dissatisfied being part of the system at such an important time in a woman’s life. I wanted to give individualised care to improve women’s experience of childbirth. As an Independent midwife I have a very small caseload meaning I can give a better quality service. It is worth asking your midwife how many women per year she is responsible for. I believe that a positive birth experience is a great way to embark on the journey to parenthood. Independent care is much more satisfying for women and their families.
